The Platform Preview is an early look at the Internet Explorer 9 platform so some features are incomplete, some may change, and some may be added. من التوزيعات الرائعة التي يحتاجها كل مستخدم سواء من مستخدمي لينكس أو ماك أو ويندوز هذه التوزيعة، لماذا؟ لأنها تتضمن أدوات مهمة منها الخاص بعمليات إصلاح الأعطال والمشاكل التي قد تنشأ في بعض تقسيمات القرص الصلب خصوصاً في ظل وجود بيانات مهمة يخشى من فقدانها على الأقسام الأخرى.
خصائصها :
من أبرز الخصائص الفنية في توزيعة Parted Magic بنائها على أحدث نواة من لينكس الواجهة الرسومية الأساسية Xfce طراز المعالج المستهدف i486 فما أحدث. تحتوي هذه التوزيعة - بالرغم من صغر حجمها - على العديد من الحزم والأدوات المهمة، ففي مجال أدوات تقسيم القرص الصلب هناك برنامج gparted بواجهة رسومية ويعد أحد أسهل وأقوى الأدوات في هذا المجال، وهناك غيره عدد من البرامج مثل cfdisk، fdisk، gpart، parted وأخيراَ sfdisk. وفي مجال أنظمة الملفات فهناك العديد من الحزم التي تعالج معظم أنواع الملفات ومن أبرزها برنامج ntfs-3g لمعالجة ملفات NTFS وبرنامج xfsprogs لمعالجة الملفات بنظام XFS وبرنامج dosfstools لمعالجة ملفات DOS وFat بأنواعه، وهناك أيضاً برنامج diskdev_cmds لمعالجة بعض أنظمة ملفات OSX، كما يوجد برنامج لدعم أنظمة ملفات ext2 وهو برنامج e2fsprogs وغيرها كثير.

The Parted Magic OS employs core programs of GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful programs , documentation to benefit the user. An extensive collection of file system tools are also included, as Parted Magic supports the following: ext2, ext3, ext4, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, linux-swap, ntfs, reiserfs, reiser4, and xfs. (e.g. Clonezilla, Partimage, TestDisk, Truecrypt, G4L, SuperGrubDisk, ddrescue, etc...) and an excellent set of programms .
Parted Magic requires at least a i586 processor and 256MB of RAM to operate or 128MB in "Live" mode.
